'Missing' Jamalpur mayor rescued in Moulvibazar

Police today rescued the mayor of Sharishabari municipality in Jamalpur two days after he went missing from Dhaka.
Md Rokonuzzaman Rokon, 40, was found at the tea garden in Kalighat area in Srimongol upazila of Moulvibazar in an unconscious state with his hands and legs tied up, said Md Shahjalal, superintendant of the district police.
Rokon allegedly went missing after he went out for a walk from his residence at Uttara Sector 13 in Dhaka around 9:30am on Monday, said Sayed AZ Morshed Ali, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Sharishabari upazila.
