Police super sued for ‘illegally possessing’ Tk 83.6m

The Anti-Corruption Commission has sued a superintendent of police in Faridpur and his wife for possessing millions of undisclosed taka.
According to the case statement, police officer Subhash Chandra Saha and his wife Rina Chowdhury were sued under the Money Laundering Prevention Act 2012 for hiding ownership of Tk 83.6 million.
The couple hid the money at several branches of One Bank in Dhaka and Jessore districts.
As per the article of 4 (2), (3) of the law, the couple's activities are a punishable offence.
