2 killed in Noakhali road crash

Two passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Subarnachar-Sonapur road in Subarnachar upazila on Tuesday midnight.
The deceased were identified as Abul Kalam, 45, son of Abdul Hakim of Charbata uion of Subarnachar upazila, and Jasim Uddin, 25, son of Md Ismail, of Ramgati upazila of Laxmipur.
Nizam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Char Jabber Police Station, said the accident took place as the CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided with a battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 12:00 am, leaving four people injured.
Later, three of the injured were taken to Noakhali General Hospital where Kalam and Jasim succumbed to their injuries while Jahangir was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, the police official added.
Another injured Ismail was undergoing treatment at upazila health complex.
