Man stabbed dead in Narail

A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals over previous enmity at Kalabaria village in Naragati upazila on Thursday.

Quoting local people, police said Hasmat Talukdar and Tariqul Sheikh, son of Israfil Sheikh of Kalabaria village had long been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the area.

As a sequel to the enmity, an altercation ensued among the supporters of both groups.

At one stage, both groups attacked each other, leaving Tariqul dead on the spot.

Meanwhile, police have arrested three people from the spot, said Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Naragati Police Station.
