Hundi trader held with Indian rupees at Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a hundi trader along with 36,000 Indian rupees from no-man’s land area of Benapole international check post on Sunday night. 

The arrestee was identified as Rumon Khan, 31, son of Helaluddin, a resident of Sibganj area in Sylhet district town. 

Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion, said that tipped off that a hundi trader was carrying a large amount of money from India to Bangladesh, a team of BGB members conducted a drive in the area and arrested him along with the rupees.

A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station.
