Biman Bangladesh Airlines has decided to induct two aircraft for a short period of time on wet-lease basis mainly to operate its flights on Dhaka-Jeddah route.

“We’re going for early termination of two aircraft taken from Egypt air. We’ll use these two aircraft for covering up the vacancies of these early termination of the Egypt Air aircraft,” Managing Director & CEO AM Mosaddique Ahmed told UNB.

He said one of the Egypt Air’s aircraft will be grounded in January and another will leave in March.

“Our 787-800 will be inducted at the fag end of next year. We’re taking these two aircraft just to make up this short gap,” he said.

The two aircraft will be included in Biman on ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) lease for a period of eight months from February next year, according to the tender paper.
