Three days into the missing case of an assistant professor of North South University, police say they have no progress towards tracing his whereabouts.

“We haven’t been able to trace him, we are trying our best,” said Moshiure Rahman, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station.

He said detectives and other units of police are working in the case. “We are looking if he had any family problems or any other problematic affiliations.”

Dr Mubashar Hasan, an assistant professor of School of Humanities and Social Sciences, has been missing since Tuesday. A missing diary has been filed in this regard.

He reportedly became paranoid over his personal security after a man, identifying himself as a student, went to his house on October 25 and searched for him.

Mubashar’s father Motaher Hossain said today that he wants to plead to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government for a safe return of his son.

This case of widely-discussed disappearance in Dhaka city is second to the missing case of journalist Utpal Das, who has been traceless for a month now.
