Arms trader held in Chittagong

Detectives in a drive arrested an arms trader from Kaptai road area under Chandgaon thana in Chittagong early Tuesday.

The arrestee, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 28, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, used to supply arms to terrorists and muggers.

Mirza Sayem Mahmud, additional deputy commissioner of Detective Branch of police, said based on secret information, a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area early in the morning and arrested him.

The DB team also seized a one-barrel pistol, one round of cartridge and the auto-rickshaw.

In primary investigation, Mizan said that he had long involvement in supplying arms to snatchers and robbers of the city.
