12 BD nationals rescued at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 12 Bangladeshi nationals from Sadipur bordering area here on Friday night while they were being trafficked to India. 

The rescued people, including five women and two children, hail from different areas of Norail and Bagerhat districts. 

Lt. Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer BGB-49 battalion, said tipped off , a team of border guard conducted a drive in the area around 10 pm arrested them.

Sensing the presence of BGB, the human traffickers managed to flee.

Later, the BGB members handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station. 

A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
