City dwellers have been experiencing drizzle since early Saturday due to the influence of deep depression which weakened into depression in the Bay of Bengal.

The light rain started falling in the early hours of the day and was continuing till filing of the report.

Commuters and private office-goers faced problems in reaching their destinations for lack of transport due to the persistent drizzle.

Ruhul Kuddus, a meteorologist of the Met Office, said the rain will continue until  Monday morning.

The Met office recorded 4 mm rain in the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday while it recorded the highest 34mm rain in Tentulia.

Meanwhile, the maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist distant cautionary signal No. 3.

The deep depression over West Central Bay and adjoining North West Bay moved further north-northwestwards and weakened into a depression over North West Bay and adjoining West Central Bay.
