Prisoner dies at Pirojpur jail

A prisoner died at Pirojpur jail on Wednesday morning.
Jail Super of Pirojpur jail Shamim Iqbal said Zakir Talukdar, 54, son of late Mokhlech Talukdar, a resident of Jigba Saturia village of Kaukhali upazila, was rushed to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital as he was feeling pain in his chest.
The duty doctor there declared him dead, he said.
Acting Residential Medical Officer Dr M Najim Uddin said Zakir had died before he reached the hospital.
Zakir, the accused of Enamul murder case, had been staying in jail since October 29 last.
The initiatives are being taken for autopsy of the deceased.
