Farmer beaten to death over trifling matter

A farmer was beaten to death over a trifling matter in South Dhalarpar village of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ershad, 32, son of Rusmat Ali of the village.
M Saifur Rahman Khan, officer-in-charge of Companiganj Police Station, said Ershad locked an altercation with Kashem and Amin as his cow entered into their crop-land at 9 am on Monday.
At one stage, Kashem and Amin beat him up with wood and bamboo stick severely, leaving him injured.
Family members rushed him to Companiganj Health Complex from where he was shifted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
Later, Ershad succumbed to his injuries at 7 pm.
