‘2 robbers’ hurt in city ‘gunfight’

Two suspected robbers sustained bullet injuries in a reported gunfight with police in Wasa Bottola area under Kadamtoli thana early Tuesday.

The injured robbers were Shahjalal, 38, and Shamim, 32.

M A Jalil, officer-in-charge of Kadamtoli Police Station, said being tipped off that a gang of robber was taking preparation for committing robbery, a special team of police conducted a drive in the area.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them, prompting them to fire back, triggering the gunfight.

The gunfight left the duo injured with bullets on their legs.
