50 gold bars seized at Chittagong airport

Customs intelligence recovered 50 gold bars, weighing around six kilogrammes, from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong this morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) conducted a search operation inside the airport and found the gold bars, said Ariful Islam, deputy director of Chittagong CIID.
The gold bars were hidden inside the flush box of a toilet wrapped with black tape, the deputy director added.
No one was arrested in this connection.
