380 rail passengers fined in 4 days for travelling sans ticket

Railway authorities fined a total of 380 passengers for travelling without tickets by eight trains in four days till Saturday. The team realised fine of Tk 33,920 from them.

Sazzad Hossian, Assistant Traffic Superintendent (ATS) of railway in Lalmonirhat, said railway authorities conducted drives in an intercity, a commuter and six other trains at Lalmonirhat Railway Station and different places on Lalmonirhat-Burimari route between last Wednesday (March 14) and Saturday (March 17).

A team of Lalmonirhat railway on Saturday conducted drives at Korotoa Express train and Commuter train No. 63 and fined 122 passengers for traveling without tickets and realised Tk 8,240 from them.

They also conducted drives in four trains at Lalmonirhat Railway Station and realised Tk 13,040 from 132 passengers, who were travelling without ticket on last Thursday.

Besides, drives were conducted in two trains by railway authorities at different places on Lalmonirhat-Burimari route and realised Tk 12,640 from 123 passengers on charge of traveling without ticket.

The drive will be continued in future, the ATS added.
