2 killed in Dhamrai road crash

Two people were killed and 11 others injured on Saturday as a human-hauler plunged into a roadside ditch after being hit by a truck on Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Sutipara bus stand area.

One of the deceased, who died on the spot, was identified as Sufia Begun, 37, while identity of another man who died on way to hospital could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station Rizaul Haque said the accident occurred when a Manikganj bound soil-laden truck hit a human hauler in the noon killing one on the spot and injuring 12 others.

Later, on the way to the hospital another man aged around 60 died, he added.  

Police seized the truck but its driver and his assistant managed to flee, he said.
