Railway official held while selling drugs at Ctg hospital

Members of the Department of Narcotics Control on Sunday night caught a railway official red-handed while selling Yaba pills at Chittagong Railway Hospital while undergoing treatment.

Tipped off, a team of the department conducted a drive at the hospital and arrested Mohammad Bakhtiar, director of Railway Transport Division, said Shamim Ahmed, deputy director of Chittagong office of the department.

They also recovered 1,000 Yaba tablets and 100 grams hemp from his possession, he said, adding that Bakhtiar had long been involved in selling drugs.

Ibne Shafi Abdul Ahad, divisional medical officer of Railway East Zone, said Bakhtiar was admitted to the hospital after he got injured in a clash between two groups two days back.
