Pabna wall collapse: Four students injured

Four schoolchildren sustained injuries as a wall of a primary school building collapses in Pabna municipality area Saturday morning.

Four among the injured – Afrin, Afsana, Al-Amin and Ismail — students of class two and children section of Shibrampur Government Primary School, were rushed to Pabna Sadar Hospital.

Later, Afrin and Ismail were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital after their condition deteriorated, said Obaidul Haque, officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station. 

The injured are—Afrin, Afsana, Al Amin and Ismail-students of class two and children section of  Shibrapmpur Government  Primary school.   

They were rushed to Pabna General Hospital immediately after the incident.

Later, Afrin and Afsana were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
 
According to witnesses, sand and other construction materials were piled imbedding a wall of the school. The wall collapsed on the four students while they were walking besides the school building, leaving them critically injured, around 10:00am.

On information, Pabna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jashim Uddin, Primary Education Officer Abdus Salam and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gowtom Kumar Biswas visited the injured at the hospital.

Being infuriated, students and guardians attempted to block Dhaka-Pabna Highway. Police foiled the attempt and brought the situation under control.
