Four killed in Habiganj bus-truck collision

Four people were killed and four more were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Haritala area of Madhabpur Upazila in Habibganj on Tuesday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

Police and locals said a Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus collided with a sand-laden truck, which coming from opposite direction, on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Haritola area at around 8 am.

Three people died on the spot and four more people were injured in the accident. The injured were taken to the hospital, where another person died. 

Shayestaganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jasim Uddin confirmed the information. After getting the news, the Shayestaganj highway police rushed to the spot and rescued the bodies, the OC said.
