39th BCS: Registration of 139 candidates cancelled

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has cancelled the registration of 139 candidates as they could not fulfil the requirements in accordance with the circular.

The BPSC on Tuesday published the notice on its website www.bpsc.gov.bd.

According to the decision of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Health or Medical Technology (Dental) degree is not equivalent to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree, it said.

The candidates who passed in BSC in Health or Medical Technology (Dental) are not fit for the post of dental surgeon in 39th BCS.

For this reason, the BPSC authority has cancelled the registration of 139 candidates, reads the press release.

Earlier on Sunday the BPSC published the seating plan of the 39th Special BCS examination.

BPSC on April 8 published a circular for the examination seeking applications against 4792 posts of physicians.

According to the circular, the MCQ examination of 200 marks is scheduled to be held on next Friday, from 3 pm to 5 pm at 25 centres in the city.

In the MCQ examination, apart from answering 100 marks’ question of Bangla, English, Bangladesh, and International Affairs, Mental Ability and Mathematical Reasoning, the candidates have to answer 100 marks’ question on medical science or dental science, said the circular.

The application process for the 39th special BCS started on April 10 and ended on April 30.

The candidates, who will be qualified in the MCQ examination, have to take part in a 100 marks viva later.
