6 shot dead in UPDF infighting in Khagrachhari

Six people including a leader of Pahari Chhatra Parishad were killed and three others injured in a gun attack in Khagrachhari Sadar upazila this morning, police said.
Among the deceased, Tapan Chakma was the district unit president of Pahari Chhatra Parishad, backed by United Peoples' Democratic Front (UPDF), said Abdul Awal, assistant superintendent of police (Sadar Circle).
Identities of the other deceased could not be known yet.
The incident occurred in Swanirbhor area of Khagrachhari Sadar around 8:30am, the official said.
The three injured were taken to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital for treatment.
