EVM to be used in 6 constituencies: Election Commission

The Election Commission (EC) today decided to use the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in six constituencies on an experimental basis in upcoming parliamentary elections amid huge criticism from the opposition alliance.

EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed briefed the media after a meeting of the commission at its office in Agargaon area of Dhaka this evening.

The commission will finalise the constituencies through random selection process on Wednesday, the EC secretary said.
