Medical student dies in Khulna road crash

A student of Khulna Medical College was killed in a road accident in Khulna city this morning, police said.

Ariful Islam Akash, 22, a third-year student of the public medical college, was found lying on the by-pass road of Rupsha Bridge in an injured state around 8:15am, said Shofikul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Labanchara Police Station.

Ariful was rushed to Khulna Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC said.

“We suspect Ariful suffered injuries after being hit by a vehicle on his way to college,” Shafikul added.

Further details of the incident could not be known yet.

Earlier this week, five Jubo League and Chhatra League men died after a truck rammed their car on the same road in Khulna city. Four of the victims of the accident were students hailing from Gopalganj.
