PM Hasina asks to arrange separate lanes for slow moving vehicles

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday asked the authorities concerned to make separate service lanes for slow moving vehicles on the roads and highways of the country.

She also directed to select lands for private entrepreneurs so that they can build shops or public toilets and bus-bays along the highways.  

The premier made the directions in the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting at the NEC Conference Room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed PM's directions at a press conference after the ECNEC meeting.

Quoting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Mannan said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to make all the roads and highways wider and thicker step by step. She also ordered to rebuild all narrow bridges of the country.”

He also informed the prime minister has ordered the authorities concerned in this regard to ensure the safety of slow moving vehicles like rickshaws and vans plying on the roads and highways.
