4 killed in Noakhali road accident

At least four construction workers were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at Chowmuhani in Noakhali on Sunday morning, when a pickup van overturned on a road as its driver lost control over the steering.

The identities of the deceased were not known immediately.

The injured workers are now undergoing treatment at Begumganj Upazila Health Complex and Noakhali General Hospital.

“Nine people have been brought to my hospital, some of whom are in critical condition,” said Dr Syed Mohiuddin Abdul Azim, resident medical officer of Noakhali General Hospital.

According to police, a team comprising 19 workers were going to Bangla Bazar of Begumganj for  building construction work at about 7:00am.

The pickup van overturned in front of Singer showroom of Chowmuhani. One construction worker died on the spot while three others died on way to hospital.
