3 hospitals being prepared to treat dengue patients

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik on Thursday said three public hospitals are being prepared to tackle the pressure of dengue patients in case the number of victims may increase.

“Preparation is being made ad three government hospitals Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, Sheikh Rasel Gastroliver Institute and Hospital as well as Mugda Medical College and Hospital. We have already instructed the hospitals’’ authorities to take necessary preparation,” he said.

The minister disclosed the information at a seminar on dengue menace at the Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital in the city.

Earlier, Zahid Malik inaugurated a new ‘Dengue Unit’ at the hospital before he joined the seminar.

“The government has already taken initiatives to buy dengue test kits and reagents for pathology laboratory,” he added about the government preparation to tackle the ongoing dengue outbreak of the country.
