26 railway coaches brought from Indonesia

The government has imported twenty six new passenger coaches from Indonesia for Bangladesh railway.

The coaches reached at Chattogram port from Indonesia on a Panamanian-flagged ship “MV Hosse Crown” on Thursday and the authorities unloaded it on Friday.

The imported coaches include 55-seated 5 air conditioned first class coaches, 66-seated 16 Shovon chair coaches, 34 seated 2 AC sleeper coach, one power car and two dining cars.  

Bangladesh Railway (East Zone) officials received the coaches and brought those to Pahartoly workshop of the port city in afternoon.

Earlier, Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan announced that the coaches will run on Dhaka Rangpur route.

Director of Chattogram Port authority Anamul Karim confirmed the news.
