Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP reserved seat Member of Parliament (MP), has withdrawn her application for government plot from the Purbachal New Town Project, according to media reports.
She sent a letter to Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim seeking cancelation of her application for government plot on Tuesday noon.
Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP chairperson's media wing, confirmed this while talking to a correspondent of a Bangla online news portal this afternoon.
Earlier, Rumeen Farhana, also the BNP international affairs secretary, sought allotment of a 10 katha plot in Dhaka’s Purbachal from the government.
On August 3, she sent a letter to the Public Works and Housing Minister appealing for a plot from the government that she terms “illegal” every now and then.
The letter has recently gone viral on social media platform Facebook, provoking a mass criticism for her ambiguous stance of demanding dissolution of ‘unelected parliament’ and taking benefit from the same government.
A section of BNP leaders also expressed their disappointment over Rumeen’s application for the plot.
