Shafiqul Islam made new DMP commissioner

Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) Mohammad Shafiqul Islam has been made new Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Public Security Division under the Home Ministry issued a notification on Wednesday in this regard.
The order will come into effect immediately, it said.
Shafiqul Islam, who was serving as the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), will replace Md Asaduzzaman Mia, whose tenure expired on August 13 but was given a one-month extension from August 14.
