Madrasa girl ‘raped’ by teacher in Jashore

A madrasa girl has allegedly been raped by her teacher in Manirampur upazila.

The accused was identified as Tariqul Islam, a teacher of Manirampur Mohila Dakhil Madrasa. He went into hiding after the incident that took place on Monday.

Angry locals attacked the madrasa on Thursday and beat another teacher Nazrul Islam who abetted the rape and confined the madrasa super for justice for the victim.

Locals said madrasa authorities started coaching for 15-17 Dakhil examinees about 15-20 days ago. On Monday, Tariqul with the help of Nazrul raped the girl and left the place leaving her senseless in the madrasa toilet.

Family members started searching for the victim as she did not return home and at last they found her lying in the madrasa toilet around 8pm on the day when she was bleeding.

The victim was later taken to Jashore General Hospital around 2am on Tuesday and she narrated the incident to her parents after coming back home on Wednesday.

Shikder Matiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station, said police rescued the victim and brought her to the police station.
