Assault on journalist: BCL leader arrested in Jamalpur

For his alleged involvement in the attack on a local journalist in Jamalpur, a BCL leader was detained.
The 27-year-old Rakib Khan is the secretary of religious affairs of the Chhatra League district. Shelu Akanda, 55, is a senior reporter for the Daily Pollikantha Protidin based in Jamalpur.
Even reported to have been involved in the incident were three others, Tushar Khan, Tuhin Khan and Shojon Khan, said Shelu.
Victim Shelu Akter is confirmed to have been an eye witness of the May 28 assault on Kaler Kantho reporter Mostofa Monju at the office premises of Jamalpur Sadar Sub-Registrar.
