Tribunal sends 5 Mymensingh Razakars to jail

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT-BD) today sent five alleged Razakars from Gafargaon upazila under Mymensingh district to jail, setting January 22, 2017, for further hearing in the case.
"The court sent Khalilur Rahman Meer, 61, Akkel Ali alias Raisuddin Azadi, 73, Abul Kalam alias Shamsuzzaman, Mohammad Abdullah and Abdul Malek alias Akanda alias Abul Hossain as police produced them before the court," prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chemon told BSS.
According to the prosecution, the investigation agency initiated probing alleged crimes against humanity committed by Meer in 1971, on October 16, 2014.
During the investigation, the agency found involvement of the other four with the crimes as well.
