2 stone extraction workers killed in Sylhet

Two stone quarry workers were killed while they along with other labourers were extracting stones from a hillock in Jaflong area under Gowainghat Upazila on Thursday.

The deceased are Akram Hossain, 30, son of Mekhai Miah and Lesu Miah, 25, son of Abdul Hanif, both residents of Tukerbazar area under the Sadar Upazila.

Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat police station, said: "The incident took place in a quarry at Nayabosti around 7:00am."
