Arrest warrants issued against 29 BNP men

Arrest warrant has been issued against 29 BNP leaders and activists including BNP leader Barkatullah Bulu, Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar and Saiful Islam Nirob in a case filed under the Special Powers Act with Mohammadpur police station in Dhaka.

Dhaka senior special court’s Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla ordered the warrants on Sunday (April 23) after accepting the charges against them.

Additional Public Prosecutor (PP) of the court Tapash Kumar Pal told Banglanews that a total of 31 people are accused in the special tribunal-258/17 case.

Of them, BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Amanullah Aman were granted bail upon plea. Court issued arrest warrant against the other 29 accused as they did not appear before it.

Earlier in January 2015, the case (No. 36(1)15) was filed with Mohammadpur police station accusing 31 people for their alleged involvement in destructive activities during BNP’s strike.
