2 died in Jamalpur road crash

Two sexagenarian men were died and another injured in a road mishap as a speedy pickup-van rammed them at Puthiarpur village in Sarishabari upazila of the district on Thursday (May 4).
The deceased were identified as Abdul Mannan and Hatem Ali, both hailed from the same village.
The injured, Anisur Rahman, was admitted to Jamalpur General Hospital.
Sarishabari thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mazharul Islam said the pickup van driver hit the three pedestrian after losing control over the van’s steering around 10:45am leaving the duo dead on spot.
The driver managed to escape the scene. On information, police seized the vehicle and recovered the bodies, OC added.
