DU student drowns in Zahurul Haq Hall pond

A first-year honours student of Dhaka University (DU) drowned in a pond of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall at the campus on Monday (May 15).
The deceased was identified as Jony, hailed from Noakhali, was a student of Applied Chemistry department.
Jony drowned in the pond when bathing along with some other friends in the morning, said his classmates.
On information, fire service members rescued him senseless.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians declared him dead, said the classmates.
Jony was a resident of Fazlul Huq Hall but used to live at Chankharpul, they added.
