Want to end nasty politics, Khaleda tweets

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday tweeted: "Using police to raid opposition party office without any cause is exactly the kind of nasty politics we want to remove from the country."

It was the first time the former prime minister had tweeted from her official account following the raid.

Police conducted a raid on Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office on Saturday morning, but they did not find any anti-state document there.

The law enforcement, following a search warrant issued by the court, conducted the raid on the BNP chief’s Gulshan office to find out whether there is any anti-state document in it, said Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Gulshan police station.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) demanded resignation of the home minister, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, for the ‘illegal’ police raid on the office of the party chief and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
