JU student died in Savar road crash

A Jahangirnagar University (JU) student was died and another injured when a bus hit a human hauler on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar early today.

JU’s marketing department student Nazmul Hasan Rana, 24, son of Abdul Kuddus of Pabna and microbiology student Arafat, 24, were injured as the bus hit the human hauler carrying them around 5:00am in C&B bus stand area, said JU Proctor Tapan Kumar Saha.

Rana and Arafat were taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rana dead.

The accident took place when the two students were returning to the campus after attending a religious sermon at Kolma Marker’s Mosque under Savar union, said the proctor.
