10 workers injured in Savar RMG factory fire

At least 10 garment workers received burn injuries as a fire broke out at a garment factory in Mazidpur area on Thursday night.

Fire service control room sources said that the fire originated from the chemical godawn of ‘Pakija Dying Limited’ around 8:30am, it soon engulfed the entire factory.

Mahmud, duty officer at Fire Service Central Control Room, said that the fire originated from the chemical godowns of ‘Pakija Dying Limited’ at around 8:27pm and it soon engulfed the entire factory.

On information, ten fire fighting units from Savar, DEPZ, Mohammadpur, Dhamrai fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire after two hours of frantic efforts.

Sajedul Islam, in-charge of Savar fire service office, said that around 10 garment workers received injuries in the fire incident.
