4 died in Chittagong road crash

A total of four people were died in separate road accidents in the port city and Mirsarai upazila on Wednesday morning and Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Rafaul Mandol, 50, Md Kaium, 20, Md Sabuj, 25, and Musharraf Hossain Rony, 24.

Jahirul Islam, in-charge of Chittagong Medical College Police Outpost, said that a bus hit Rafaul while he was going to his workplace around 5:30 am, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The police official also said that another accident took place in Moijjartek area when a truck ran over Kaium around 11:30 pm on Tuesday night, leaving him critically injured.

Rescued by locals, the injured was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists - Sabuj and Rony - were killed in a collision between two motorcycles in Baryarhat area of Mirsarai upazila around 10:00 pm, said sub-inspector Shafiqul Islam, in-charge of Joralganj Highway Police Outpost.
