AL won’t spare money swindlers: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today warned that his party will take stern action if its leaders are found involved in money laundering.

“Whoever involved in this connection is not a matter. No compromise with the money launderers,” Quader came up with the warning in a press conference at the party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Dhamondi office this afternoon.

Bangladeshi nationals' deposits in Swiss banks rose 20.18 percent compared to the preceding year of 2015 and amounted to Tk 5,575 crore, a report says. The amount was Tk 4,423 crore in 2015.

Investigation based on the allegations are underway, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said adding that his party will take action following outcome of the investigation.
