Child killed in house collapse in Ukhia hill

A six-year-old child died in collapse of a house on a hill in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The deceased is Shariar Hossain Rabbi, daughter of Sarwar Islam.

The incident took place at Anjumanpara of Palangkhali union at 8:30pm on Wednesday.
UP member of word no 9 Sultan Ahmed said that Sarwar Islam had been living in the hill for several years. A portion of the house collapsed due to incessant rain since Tuesday.

Shariar was killed as a part of the house fell on him.

UP chairman of Palangkhali union Gofur Uddin Chowdhury said the authorities cautioned people through hand mike for last two days about possible landslides and casualties due to incessant rain. He, however, claimed the people are not paying heed to it.
