9 gold bars recovered at Shahjalal airport

Customs intelligence recovered nine gold bars after breaking a laptop of a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday night.

The customs officials also arrested the passenger who has come from Singapore.

The arrestee was identified as Humayun kabir, hailing from Hatinakanda of Vober bazaar in Purbodhola upazila of Netrakona.

Director General of Customs Intelligence Moinul Khan said being informed a team of customs intelligence searched him while he was crossing green channel and seized nine gold bars after breaking his laptop. They also recovered 94 grams gold jewellery from him.

The gold bars were attached with motherboard of the laptop by scotch tape.
