No alternative to Sheikh Hasina for militancy-free Bangladesh: Nanak

Joint General Secretary of Awami League (AL) Jahangir Kabir Nanak, MP, has said there is no alternative to Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina for building a developed Bangladesh free from militancy and terrorism.

"The leaders, workers and activists of AL and its associate bodies should inform common people about massive developments of the present government to seek vote for symbol 'Boat' to continue the process of uplift and progress of the people and country," he said. 

Nanak said this while addressing an extended meeting of the city AL arranged at Town Hall here on Saturday night as the chief guest. 

Nanak said the AL always believes in development, never supports terrorism and militancy and is committed to realizing the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through building a developed Sonar Bangla. 

"Rangpur remained neglected in the past, but huge changes have already taken place here. The AL government has established public university, Rangpur City Corporation, administrative division and carried out many other unprecedented development works," he said. 

"The leaders, workers and activists of AL and its associate bodies should now become united as time has come to focus these development works before the common people and work altogether to ensure victory of the AL-nominated Mayoral candidate in the upcoming Rangpur City Corporation polls," Nanak said. 

Presided over by Rangpur City AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi, Organising Secretaries of AL BM Mozammel Haque, MP, and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Finance and Planning Affairs Secretary of AL Tipu Munshi, MP, addressed the meeting as special guests.

Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia, MP, Abul Kalam Md Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Deuk, MP, media personality and young AL leader Rashek Rahman, Rangpur Zila Parisahd Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom, Acting president of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, among others, addressed. 

The leaders, workers and activists of all 33 city units of AL, Jubo League, Chhatra League, Swechchasebak League, Sramik League and other associate bodies attended the meeting moderated by city AL General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal.
