2 more hajj flights cancelled for passenger crisis

The authorities of Biman Bangladesh Airlines have cancelled two more hajj flights due to shortage of pilgrims.

The flights -BG-5045 and BG-3053- were scheduled to take off for Saudi Arabia at 5:00am Wednesday morning and 4:35pm in afternoon respectively.

With these, a total of 19 flights have been cancelled during this hajj session.

Managing director of the Biman Shakil Miraz said that the flights were cancelled due to shortage of passengers.

Following the series of cancellation of flights, the Biman authorities will arrange a press briefing today (Wednesday).

The first hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left for Saudi Arabia with 419 Bangladeshi pilgrims on 24 July.

As many as 1,27,198 pilgrims are scheduled to perform hajj this year.
