Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park to be upgraded to intl’ standard: Sahab

Environment, Forests, and Climate Change Minister M Shahab Uddin today said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, named after the Father of the Nation at Dulahazara in Cox’s Bazar, will be upgraded to an international standard.

Directing the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to turn Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park into an international standard, he said, “Very soon it will be a turn into the world-class standard”. He said this while inspecting the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park development project (Phase II), said a press release.

The minister said that all the animals in the safari park should be provided with good quality food, accommodation, and overall security. “Appropriate measures should also be taken to ensure the safety of the tourists visiting the safari park,” said the minister. He assured of providing minibusses for the convenience of tourists to visit the safari park.

Earlier, the minister visited Medhakchupia National Park and exchanged views with the forest rangers. Zafar Alam, MP, Secretary of the ministry Ziaul Hasan, Chief Conservator of Forests M Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Conservator of Forests of Chittagong Region Mohammad Abdul Awal Sarkar, among others, were present.
