Cyclone Mora crossing Ctg-Cox’s Bazar coast

The powerful cyclonic storm Mora has started crossing Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong region at 6:00am today (Tuesday), said Met Office.

The Met Office's special bulletin said the storm is moving in a northerly direction further towards northeast India.

The coastal districts and maritime ports are facing gusty wind with rain and thunder showers due to its influence.

Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the centre of the cyclone is about 89 kph, rising to 117 kph.

The special bulletin also asked the maritime ports of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar to hoist danger signal no. 10 while coastal districts of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Feni, Chandpur and their offshore islands and chars also will come under danger signal no 10.
