Netrakona counselor held with heroin worth Tk 11 lakh

Police in a drive arrested a counselor of the municipality and a woman along with heroin worth Tk 11 lakh from Chakpara area of the district town on Monday.
The arrestees are Shafikul Islam Khan Khokon, counselor of ward No. 3 and his aide Laboni, 35.
On secret information, police conducted a drive at Harijan Polli in the town and arrested the duo along with 110 grams of heroin and 11 pieces of Yaba tablets, said officer-in-charge of Netrakona Model Police Station Amir Taimur Ali.
A case was filed and the arrestees were sent to the court, he added.
