One held with 10 gold bars at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a suspected gold smuggler along with 10 pieces of gold bars worth Tk 50 lakh from Putkhali border area here on Friday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Monirul Islam, 25, son of Sabur Ali of Putkhali village.
Lt Col Tarikul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB 21 battalion, said tipped-off, a BGB patrol team conducted a drive here and arrested the man.
After searching his body, they recovered 10 pieces of gold bars. The seized gold bars were deposited to Benapole customs godown.
A case was filed with Benapole Port Police station.
