1.16 kg gold seized in Chapainawabganj

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday recovered 10 gold bars weighing 1.16 kg from Sonamasjid Land Port area in Shibganj upazila.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-59 raided the area and recovered the gold worth Tk 50 lakh from Gate-1 of the land port, Lt Col Rashed Ali, commanding officer of BGB-59 Battalion, told a press briefing on Thursday.
However, no one was arrested in this connection.
The seized gold bars will be deposited to the treasury vault of the deputy commissioner, he said.
